The EUTRAVEL Conference headlined “The Future of Multimodal Travel in Europe” took place in Barcelona on the 6th of October, presenting evidence that there are plenty of intriguing and innovative developments in the travel and mobility sector across Europe.

Here’s a few stats:

  • 24 speakers from 11 European countries;
  • 59 companies and organisations represented, including Transport Operators, Travel Service Providers, Technology Providers, Start-ups, Research Institutes and Authorities;
  • 87 delegates;

and countless innovative ideas shared!

The event focused on the advancements and challenges towards seamless door-to-door travelling and was organised in three topics:

  1. Travel Technology and Business Driven Innovations,
  2. Research Driven Innovations, with the presentation of 10 related EU funded projects,
  3. Trends and Challenges, Mobility as a Service, Added Value Services for Travellers.

Background

The conference was organised by Inlecom Systems Ltd – EUTRAVEL Project Coordinator – and FGC. The EUTRAVEL project (Optimodal European Travel Ecosystem) envisions the realisation of a sustainable and open single European market for multimodal travel services, by integrating many transport and travel services and making them available through a single API of APIs. Project partners include Amadeus, BMT Group, Brittany Ferries, Business-E, CLMS UK Ltd, EBOS Technologies, FGC, Hill Dickinson LLP, NCSR Demokritos, Pharos Datacom, SilverRail, STI Innsbruck, Travelport, Trenitalia, VLTN.

EUTRAVEL has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Grant Agreement No 636148.
